Biodiesel — Better than diesel?
Biodiesel is a domestically produced, renewable fuel manufactured from vegetable oils, animal fats or recycled restaurant grease, and can be use in diesel engines. Substantial tax incentives are available for this and other agricultural-based gas additives.

Despite these incentives, biodiesel comes with a number of disadvantages. Biodiesel is typically blended with petroleum diesel, and therefore shares diesel’s harmful emissions and remains heavily dependent on foreign petroleum imports. Typically more expensive than ordinary highway diesel, pure biodiesel also has a lower fuel economy.
